BIG ISLAND OVERVIEW

Most people are surprised to learn that
the Big Island of Hawaii has an unmatched diversity of terrain and
climate. While most people think only of active volcanoes and black
lava fields, The Big Island also offers snow-capped peaks, tropical
rain forests, waterfalls, alpine meadows, a glacial lake and miles of
golden, black and even green sand beaches. As the largest of all the
Hawaiian Islands (prepare for a lot of driving if you're into
sightseeing), and the least populated, this is where Mother Nature
really shows her magic. Nowhere else can you snowboard and surf all in
the same day!
The most popular areas include: The Kohala Coast and Kona Coast on the West Side, Hilo on the East Side and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in the Southeast.
