Recent Ala Moana Review: "the only thing they don't tell you about until you check-in is the parking fee....super rediculous they charge $15.00 for self and $20.00 for valet...and if you can't find any parking they still charge you...or you have no choice but to pay the valet...and than tip them on top of that. Luckly we only stayed one night or we'd be paying more to park our car than for the room itself. also rooms are very tiny...so if you have lots of luggage...good luck on finding storage!! the lady in the gift shop needs some help...called down to ask a question said she was super busy...went to gift shop shortly after and no one was in the gift shop....instead found her behind the counter munching on some snacks. other than that everything else was fine...location wise perfect for shopping."

| A short guide to Waikiki |

Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
