Recent Aqua Aloha Surf Review: "First of all, if you plan to rent a car CALL THE HOTEL IN ADVANCE. Their parking garage fills up fast and you will be put on a waiting list. We used the bus in Honolulu which for getting around was very nice ($2 per person, $1 for children 6 and up). Once, the hotel clerk spent a lot of time with a couple who had just arrived in a rental explaining to them alternative parking. I thought that was nice.
I had never been to Oahu, so to find a hotel whose lobby had no door and was open to the outside from back to front to side was very different. Nice!
A modest continental breakfast was included. Small croissants, rolls, fruit filled rolls (we call them kolaches in Houston) and assorted fruit and juice. Coffee was dispensed from a machine - not instant coffee. Taste of coffee was adequate. The breakfast area was open and breezy. Extremely relaxing and quiet.
Staff was friendly. Cleaning staff was friendly as well. We were all treated kindly.
The room was nice. Our room had a small fridge, sink, plates, silverware, cups and coffee maker with Kona blend coffee as well. The room was perfect for the three of us...wife, 5 year old daughter and me. There was a queen sized bed and sofa. Ethernet connection was also provided.
The bathroom was very small with only a shower.
We were a 10 minute stroll to Waikiki beach.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
