Recent Courtyard Marriott Waikiki Review: "Our Stay was in Oct 23-Nov 1, 2008 (9days). My husband and I are in our mid 40s. This was our Annual Vacation together and we were also visiting friends stationed in the Navy. I looked at many Hotel reviews on my websites before choosing the Wakkii Wyland. Price, Convience, Hotel Amenities & Hotel Reviews are what helped make my desicion on where we would stay. We had a King Room with Refrig/microwave in the Main Building. Our Room was on the 7th floor with balconey overlooking the Pool. That was fine with me, because I am a light sleeper and we did not hear the Road traffic. The Hotel is very nice, Main floor Lobby is Open with fresh air gently flowing thru, Staff were very friendly, Conceiege was helpful, Our King size bed was comfortable and linens were fresh/clean. Bathroom was fine for two people, Shower was good and hot water all the time. Shower was a little small. They have 32" LCD TVs in Room but did not watch much TV, we are a very active couple. We did hang out a couple of nites at the Hotel Bar... Bartender was good and drinks were less than at most restaurants. We snorkeled 3 days of our Trip, sailed on one day, I did skydiving one morning. The best way to get around the entire Island is Rent a Car, We waited til we got to Oahu and Rented a Mini Cooper Convertible for 5 days. So we saw the whole Island. The Best Beach was Bellows Beach, quiet and not over crowded....it is on the Windward Side Huanmau Bay was Great for snorkling. Bring your own gear if you have it. You can walk to Wakkii Beach from Hotel it is not far. If you forgot to pack something... no worries... there is an ABC Store on every corner that will have watch you need. We really liked the North shore but the Waves were aroung 10 to 15 feet high so not good for swimming. It did rain 4 out of the 5 days but it did not stop us. We did Pearl Harbor which is a must. Want to buy Souvenirs? Then go to Aloha Stadium, Wed, Fri or Sat for the Swap Meet..... got all my gifts there for really good pr"

| A short guide to Waikiki |
|
Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
