| I was mislead when I booked through the Elite Collection. Although my room was in the Ala Moana Hotel--a very nice hotel--it was in a smaller wing of the hotel--managed by the Elite Collection. The price was $25 less per day but the saving was not worth it. The room was a closet, did not have a balacony (rooms in the tower managed by the hotel did), you did not receive daily maid service or clean towels and could not charge any restaurant bills, etc. to your hotel bill. Basically, you were a stepchild at the hotel.
I believe the most troubling aspect of booking through this collection was the lack of response to telephone calls made to them. Approximately one month before my visit, I received a charge on my credit card that I did not recognize. After some research, I found it was for my stay at the AlaMoana but charged through the Elite Group. When I called Mark of this Group, I received a quick callback when my message to him indicated I was putting a stop for this charge on my credit card because I did not recognize the charge. However, when I called him three times during my stay at the hotel requesting a one-hour late checkout, I did not receive even the courtesy of a return call--and none to this day. More frustrating than the money saved! |

| Nice room, tastefully decorated, great view, great location, BUT no service. I want the managers job ... no work, and I assume he IS getting paid! Property manager for Elite Colllection unreachable, no maid service or clean towels for the whole 3 day stay. Oh and when we finally did get a call back upon check in, they double booked us and tried to put us in a room with 2 dbls. even though we paid for a King! Whoever owns this private management operation should think about replace their key guy, cause when surfs up or down he's not around! |

| Very convenient location of the hotel, close to the Ala Moana beach park, which is the perfect quiet family place. Outside the crowded Waikiki hotels that share the same beach!
The Ala Moana Elite collection is privately owned and not managed by the Hotel, so you can not be charged for extra costs (i.e. you have to pay at the time of service ).
The room was well-decorated, has comfortable beds, thick bath towels, a small refrigerator and a nice view on the Ocean. We enjoyed the swimming-pool as well as the fitness room.
The breakfast consists in a large continental buffet with nice and polite service, althought a little bit expensive and not included in the room price. |
