Recent Aqua Waikiki Beachside Review: "I booked this hotel after reading reviews from others. I spent the little bit of extra money and got the deluxe ocean view room. We were on the 12th (top) floor and the view was breathtaking. It was so nice to wake up and go to sleep overlooking the beautiful ocean. We were also in the perfect viewing spot for New Years fireworks that were shot off from a barge in the ocean. The room was small, but my husband and I managed just fine for the four nights that we spent there. Also, the A/C was loud, but it helped to drown out the street noise at night. While the room probably has not been updated since the 60's, the bathroom looked like it had been renovated sometime in the last five years. The television was super old, but worked just fine and the bed was nice and comfortable. The staff were also very nice and even had to take us up to our room and open our door because our key kept malfunctioning. I would definitely recommend this hotel as long as you spring for the ocean view room on the higher floors."

| A short guide to Waikiki |
|
Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
