Recent Aston Islander Beach Review: "We enjoyed our stay at the Islander very much - especially for the reasonable price (for Kauai)! The room was very clean. We first thought the ceramic tiled floor was odd, but it was clean and attractive, and actually makes a lot of sense in sandy Hawaii. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed having free wireless Internet access in the comfortable lobby and covered patio. The pool and hot tub area were very nice, and the small pool bar was convenient. There was a fun group that seemed to hang out there, and we enjoyed talking with them one evening. The bartender was great! The beach was beautiful to look at, and wade in. We saw some brave souls out swimming, and some children playing in the waves with parents close by. There are warning signs posted, and there's no lifeguard so we didn't swim there, but we did enjoy walking the stretch of beach. I heard that there were hidden costs at most of the resorts, but we didn't experience that at all. We booked the room and paid the price we booked for, with no other fees. Parking was free. We would completely recommend this small resort hotel to our friends and family. We visited around to several of the other resort hotels, and for the price this one is very nice, clean and comfortable, and much better that we expected!"
