Recent Aston Kauai Beach Makaiwa Review: "I have stayed here several times as it is CLEAN,COMFORTABLE and always exactly what I expected.
It is modest, and the level of service, friendly staff are most reliable.- No surprises so far. It used to be a Marriott Courtyard which was how I orignally found it and used it for business because I could always count on it to be nice (most Marriotts offer reliable accomodations without funky surprises) Now that it has been purchased by ResortQuest- I find it is STILL nice, just as expected!! So I would use this over and over. Too bad they are not closer to Kilauea Farms and Princville area north- as that is where most of my business takes place. But to show you how "reliable" the type accomodations are- I am willing to drive the 1/2 hour- 45 minutes north up and back- especially for the price of a nice comfortable room."

Today, kayakers and adventurers use the town as a base to explore the Wailua River, Wailua Falls, and the 19th-century plantation village of Kapaa.
