A short guide to Kaanapali

Kaanapali is a prime vantage point for viewing humpback whales, which swim by December to May. The town’s whaling history is displayed at Whaler’s Village, a shopping complex and museum. Visitors also can experience the area’s farming past by riding the Sugar Cane Train, a restored steam locomotive. Snorkelers and divers can enjoy the coral reefs and fish that thrive in nearby Black Rock Beach.

Recreation

Grassy lawns house an outdoor splash pool and shuffleboard court, and a gate leads to an ocean reef and narrow swimming beach. A tennis court is on site, with equipment rentals available.
