The Aston Paki Maui is a condo community that also doubles up as a hotel - I'm thinking this is some sort of 'vacation home investment' deal where owners rent out their condos via Aston. Anyways, the hotel is in a great location and is quiet and peaceful. Most importantly, it's right next to the ocean and the views from the ocean-front rooms are unbelievable! There are a few restaurants and stores around the hotel so finding supplies is pretty easy. Finally, the hotel is located about 4 miles from Lahaina harbor which happens to be the only area with decent nightlife in Maui (Maui is extremely quiet and laid back when compared to O'ahu) The condo we stayed in was quite nice and it had 2BR & 2BA (although my confirmation said 2BR/1BA. I was very pleased) and it was quite spacious (approx 1200 Sq-ft). The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was quite well stocked (dishes, pans and the like), and as I said before, the views were fantastic! It is hard to find many negatives about our condo/room, but if I were nitpicking, I'd say (a) the furniture, carpets, etc of the condo seemed a bit old (however, you should remember that this is a condo specific issue. Your condo could be furnished completely differently by the owner), (b) the front desk staff at the hotel were a bit too laid back (although they were quite friendly). Checking out of the hotel took more than 20 minutes! (In the age of bills being shoved under your door, 20 minutes is 20 minutes too many :)) , and finally (c) Parking is $8/day - Really? in Maui? Hope this helps.
