Recent Aston Waikiki Joy Review: "Aston Joy in Waikiki is 2 quick blocks to Waikiki Beach, and close to everything we needed like convenience stores, bars and restaurants. We arrived fairly late, and it was an easy check in. We had a room on the 10th floor looking over the street. We had a view of the ocean from our lanai although it wasn't a view room, and a great view just outside of the front door. It's an older hotel, but everything was clean and convenient. The lobby is open-air, and has open air covered seating for breakfast and koi ponds. The was a very small swimming pool. The bed was fabulously comfortable, with air conditioning right over the bed. Breakfast was muffins and fruit, but adequate for our needs. The elevator does not have air conditioning, but it was OK for the short trip to the 10th floor."

A short guide to Waikiki

Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark.
