Recent Castle Ocean Waikiki Review: "The people who worked at the front desk went out of their way to be sure to answer and accommodate requests. We checked out but the plane didn't leave until 10:30pm and they stored our
luggage locked in the lobby until time we requested at no extra cost. They gave us maps when we needed without asking.
The bus line stops right at the hotel and it is across from the Marriot, 1/2 block from Waikiki Beach. 4 blocks from the Open International Market and Waikiki at the Top and the Waikiki Mall. If you are looking at the bus for travel (which I recommend) you can go to thebus.org and get directions on which bus to catch and can print directions and time it takes to get there. You spend a lot of time getting from one place to another but it is faster than renting a car and paying the price for gas plus paying for parking and then trying to find the way. It is cheap to get a 4 day pass ($20) and it is unlimited travel. We even took to and from the airport. Otherwise you just put in 2 dollar bills and go. The hotel is a regular stop and on the corner. The hotel has a nice kitchen that you could cook meals if you wanted. They have good coffee that you can get more downstairs. There is a good restaurant on the first floor as well as shopping (kinda pricy)but ABC store (they are everywhere) are reasonable and 1/4 block away. Nice hotel and well placed, nice personnel, roomy rooms and fair view of beach. The hotels building around are taller. We definitely will stay there again and have already recommended to others and they have made reservations to go there."

| The hotel is two blocks back from the beach, but you can see the ocean from the upper floors, and backs on Kuhio Ave. so you can walk across the street to catch a bus to almost anywhere. All rooms have refrigerators but only the kitchenettes have coffee makers, so if you have to have an early morning coffee, bring a hot pot. The restaurant in the lobby serves a good breakfast and opens at 6 am. Staff were very accommodating. It is an older hotel and shows its age, but everything is clean and my bed was very comfortable. To be able to look out and see the ocean was well worth it to me. Watch for their specials and book the ocean view. |

| The only inconvenience of our stay at this hotel was the parking and the elevators. Parking was only valet which was ok but you had to walk to get your key. It was like they park your car and you pick it up (very weird). There was only two elevators which was very slow. The carpet was a little dingy. The beds were comfortable. It was clean and spacious. All that aside I would still stay there for the price and highly recommend for the price. The location was good for the areas and places we needed to be near beach, zoo, and aquarium. |

| We arrived early (around 11am). Check-in was not until 3pm, but they had our room available already, and we were able to drop all of our luggage in the room before hitting the beach, which isn't too far away at all. For the price, everything was great, but one thing.... NO FREE WIFI?! I believe many places, including the airport, sign contracts with Wi-Fi service providers, but it would be so much better if they would just provide the service for free. Perhaps they want you to use their own travel guides rather than looking up reviews online? Hmmm.... Anyway, nice people working there. |

| Hotel not in a great area, but not as bad as some. Was clean but shabby. The mini fridge had rusty cracks in the shelves. The hotel has 2 small pools. Probably could been cleaned more often. The a/c was showing it's age, extremely noisy with a fan that was on it's last legs. Our door's deadbolt jammed open and the door would not shut as we were on our way out the door, so we had to call maintenence. They were quick to respond. |

| We enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location, we could see the beach from our room and there were balconys. The decor wasn't up to date but very clean. Our a/c was really cold also. It was perfect for the price. |

| The Ocean Reort Waikiki worked out really well for my budget vacation. I booked a room with a kitchenette so that I didn't have to eat out constantly. That saved me a lot of money. The room had a balcony and was quite spacious, The hotel can use some serious upgrading, especially the lobby, elevators and pool area. Of course if they did that the price would go up, so for my purposes it was just fine the way it was. |
