Recent Castle Ocean Waikiki Review: "The people who worked at the front desk went out of their way to be sure to answer and accommodate requests. We checked out but the plane didn't leave until 10:30pm and they stored our luggage locked in the lobby until time we requested at no extra cost. They gave us maps when we needed without asking. The bus line stops right at the hotel and it is across from the Marriot, 1/2 block from Waikiki Beach. 4 blocks from the Open International Market and Waikiki at the Top and the Waikiki Mall. If you are looking at the bus for travel (which I recommend) you can go to thebus.org and get directions on which bus to catch and can print directions and time it takes to get there. You spend a lot of time getting from one place to another but it is faster than renting a car and paying the price for gas plus paying for parking and then trying to find the way. It is cheap to get a 4 day pass ($20) and it is unlimited travel. We even took to and from the airport. Otherwise you just put in 2 dollar bills and go. The hotel is a regular stop and on the corner. The hotel has a nice kitchen that you could cook meals if you wanted. They have good coffee that you can get more downstairs. There is a good restaurant on the first floor as well as shopping (kinda pricy)but ABC store (they are everywhere) are reasonable and 1/4 block away. Nice hotel and well placed, nice personnel, roomy rooms and fair view of beach. The hotels building around are taller. We definitely will stay there again and have already recommended to others and they have made reservations to go there."
