We booked this cottage for our 10th anniversary. The private cottage was built about 20 yrs ago, but was just re-carpeted, so it feels new. It felt like having a small home at our disposal with the kitchen & family room in addition to the bedroom & bathroom. The proprietor's home is a short walk away, but they were very unobtrusive and we only saw them  a few times. Since we were on our anniversary, that suited our needs perfectly. The property is located near Poipu. Approximately 15-20 minutes from the beach. The road up to the cottage is fairly steep and probably works best with a jeep, but our car worked as well. If you want to spend all your time at the beach and have the convenience of going back to your room frequently, this isn't the best choice for you. However, if you want to be in a very quiet neighborhood with a lot of privacy, this property is probably perfect for you. One additional thing to consider is that this cottage did not have air conditioning. The first night it was a little toasty, but the last couple nights with the ceiling fans it was comfortable.

Bill and Kathy were wonderful hosts and vey helpful. A great place to stay. We were very happy with everything. They even had boggie boards and beach mats for us to use. Thank you for a very relaxing vacation! We should have spent more time with you.

This B&B provides the "breakfast" in a well equipped kitchen of your own. The apartment was clean and well equipped. It was tastefully decorated and the furniture was comfortable to use. The one qualification is that there is very limited parking so plan for only one auto.

My wife and I were on our last night of our honeymoon, and we wanted to stay an extra night in Kaua'i before heading home. We had previously stayed at a condo in Princeville, which was OK, although the north shore of the island was wonderful. The room, which is part of a small complex in the jungle 10 minutes from the south shore beaches, was a nice surprise. It was very big, the size of a small apartment, and had a living room, a kitchen (somewhere between a full kitchen and a kitchenette.. full-size fridge, no stove or oven but hotplates, microwave, and toaster oven) that was stocked with condiments and spices, a large bedroom, washer and dryer, and a couple nice porches. It was very secluded, but we had no trouble finding the place. TV with cable. And to our surprise there were beach chairs and boogie boards on the porch for our use that afternoon down at the beach. We stayed at the Bananna Patch unit. It was funny, we could have stayed the whole week here and would have been very happy, especially for the price. It's maybe not for a single trying to look for new friends, but for a secluded romantic spot, especially with nighttime rains in the forest, it couldn't be beat.

The unit was startlingly nice on the inside. Its a little difficult to find so checkin during daylight. The hosts are incredibly friendly. The parking can be pretty tight. The only problem we had was that we showed up on the hottest day of the year with high humidity and there is no air conditioning. There is a dehumidifier though.
