Recent Hyatt Regency Maui Review: "We were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel... The pool and amenities were fantastic. If we ever come back to Maui, this will be our hotel. It was also very close to Lahaina for shopping and activities. This very much felt like what a top notch resort should feel like.
We were a little nervous when we read reviews that there was a very small beach front and there were not enough lawn chairs at the hotel. However, we did not realize that this hotel was at the beginning of the hotel chain on kaanapali beach, and that they had paved walkways along the beach connecting all the hotels. So, although we had a small stretch of sand, a 2 minute walk on the paved walkway led to a large open portion of the beach. Also, there were plenty of chairs available, so the hotel obviously read some of their reviews and fixed this issue.
Staying on Maui, and this hotel, was the highlight of our trip."

| A short guide to Lahaina |
|
Lahaina proudly boasts that it is the “Art Capital of the Pacific.” With more than 40 art galleries, it hosts Aloha Friday, a weekly party with artists’ demonstrations. The town’s roots grow deep—literally. The historic whaling town has one of the world’s largest banyan trees, planted in 1873. From Lahaina, visitors can ride a ferry to the mostly undeveloped islands of Molokai and Lanai.
