| This hotel was a bit of a maze to navigate with a stroller and young kids but well worth it, especially if you reserve an ocean view. They had an early misstep when we had to go back to front desk after receiving our first room, to request a better ocean view (the first room was directly across from a parking garage with ocean when you craned your neck over the lanai and to the right). But I find this to often be the case, not sure why, but the first room rarely fulfills expectations. Most likely the hotel trying to pull a fast one and pawn off their duds, so stand up for yourself.
Our second room was clean, spacious (very important with youngsters) and on a higher floor with views of waves and surfers right from the bed. Breakfast buffet was included so I can't comment on pricing but it was a wonderfully sized, diverse buffet. And the restaurant that hosts breakfast (Shor) is big and offers indoor and outdoor seating. Again it is a plus with young kids not to be in a quiet, intimate setting where people keep glancing at you in annoyance.
People who commented on external noise are right with the street noise below, waves crashing and a Beatles cover band serenading us from pool side it was a cacophony. But the was kind of the point of getting somewhere right in the heart of the action. Besides closing the door to the lanai cut it to a very dull roar. We didn't have any problems getting our little ones to go down.
Staff were competent. I don't actually go to hotels to make friends with staff so I'm always baffled when people are so put off by the valet or housekeeping. All I require is a knowledgable response, a smile, or an Aloha, and we got that here.
Also wanted to mention that we stayed at 3 other hotels this stay in Oahu and Maui of a similar calibre (a Hilton, a Westin and Turtle Bay Resort) and overall the Hyatt had the best room and views.
I would recommend this hotel. |

お部屋もきれいで、満足でした。利便性もとてもよくまた泊まりたいです。
シャワーの圧があまりよくないとの口コミをみましたが、それほど気にはならなかったです。 |

| The hotel is old. The room needs an upgrade. The bathroom is old, the paint and walls are old, the carpet was old. The room was a large size. The bed sheet did not fit the king size bed. The TV was large but it was slow to change channels. The toilettries were few (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap & toothpaste). The location is brilliant. The gym is large. The pool facilities are good. Breakfast was buffet and an ok selection, nothing special, not worth the price. The staff were very polite and helpful. We had to wait a while for the lifts on occasion. Our room was next to the lifts and all night long it sounded like planes were flying above, which was the sound of the lifts operating. |

| Overall quality was first class but expect that for the price.
A bit disappointed that they added on a facilities charge of $18 per day that wasn't mentioned upfront. |

| Normally I don't write review but I'm willing to do that this time.
Because I've chosen this hotel based on the reviews and they helped a lot for my first stay in Honolulu.
Here are my experiences in early December 2011.
Great location and great view from the balcony.
I've chosen Ocean Dx room as the other reviewers' recommendation and it was very much right.
You can enjoy Waikiki sunset from the balcony.
I'd say the room's decor wasn't to my taste but the bed was very comfortable!
I've read negative side of hotel rooms but I couldn't find it with my room at all.
Lastly, I'd like to mention about very friendly staffs.
I had a such a pleasant breakfast time every morning and still remember each of them!!
And they serve marvellous breakfast as the others have already mentioned.
Thank you very much for your hospitality and I would stay again!

| 優點:櫃台服務人員很熱心。飯店內就有很多活動可以參加。地點很方便。
缺點:1. 我們住的那間房間內有一個小門是和另外一間客房相通。但當天我們並不認識隔壁客房的人。清潔人員竟然沒有詢問過,就不斷的猛力敲門要我們把小門打開。令我們感到莫名其妙! 2. 浴室的大浴巾竟然有一條有口紅印和汙漬。非常噁心! |

| 2012年12/25-31に家族4人(6歳児と2歳児含む)で滞在。
皆様がレビューで書かれている通り、部屋自体の古さは否めない。またダブルベッドで予約をしていたのがワンベッドになっていてフロントのチェックインに時間がかかったり、トイレがすぐにつまったり、1日2本のFREEの水が来ない日があったりなど、気になることを言い出せばキリがないのだが、すべてこちらからリクエストしたら対応してくれた。こういうところ含めて古き良きアメリカのリゾートホテルと感じた。いろいろリクエストする機会があったので英語を話す機会も多く、アメリカを堪能したい人はいいのではないか!?(笑)
また、そういうマイナスを差し引いても、このホテルならではの解放感と雰囲気、なによりもビーチの目の前で、ショッピングにも食事にも便利 な立地は他には変えられない物があった。妻が狙っていたUGGのショップがホテル内に入っていてアラモアナにはないラインナップがあり(メーカー直営店の為在庫豊富だそう)、アラモアナには翌日に返品にいった。EGGS'N'THINGSの2号店までも歩いて1分、並んでない時間帯で家族で堪能。ホテルのプールも子供と遊ぶのにちょうどいいサイズで楽しめた。部屋のアメニティや装飾に気を使うことは無いし、部屋の防音も意外に優れていて(隣りの部屋には子供4人の6人家族がいたようだがほとんど声が聞こえて来なかった)、子供が小さいわが家にとっては過不足ない滞在場所となった。 |

| We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki for 3 nights just after christmas, the service wasn't great unless you were Japanese. We had to line up at reception for over 20 minutes as they were under staffed and our room was not ready we were told to come back in 2 hours. Staff were not friendly at all. Did not give us a warm welcome.
We were on the 21st floor the views were great but you would have to wait for the lifts for a couple of minutes and they were always over crowded.
The room was run down and but the furniture was ok. The light switches were from the seventies and the bathroom was very old the wall paper was falling off the wall. The lamps were stained and looked dirty this hotel is very run down and is in need of renovations. You could hear neighboring guests having showers or walking above you, doors slamming definitely not a quiet peaceful hotel.
We noticed that the Japanese received great friendly service from staff. We were not treated nicely by staff. This hotel is in a fabulous position but is not worth the money. Not up to Hyatt standards!!! |
