Recent Kaanapali Beach Hotel Review: "This hotel is located at the absolute best location along the beautiful Kaanapali Beach. It is one of the original hotels along this beach, so it is a bit older than it's glitzy neighbors, but it has been pleasingly renovated and upgraded. The ocean view room we had was perfect, with a large balcony/lanai with a great view of ocean and the central garden/pool area. The garden area is meticulously maintained and very attractive. The pool is adequate in size, and for the most part deeper than 4', which is pleasnt for adults that want swim alittle, but mostly stand and cool off and socialize. It lacks the fancy slides and "under-the-waterfall-bar", but that is just as well as it keeps the shrieking and hoopla associated with such facilities to nil, which is appreciated by the mature guests, sans little kids. On the other hand, the directly poolside Tiki Bar and Grill offer up some of the best drinks and luncheon selection I have ever had on the Islands. When you ask for a Mai Tai in the Tiki Bar you get the real thing, not some watered-down brown-rum-topped-mush, which is so common from sim. resort bars. I'd say the Tiki Bar is the best along the whole strechof the beach. The outdoor (under awning) dining area with live entertainment is is delightful. The staff is very accomodating to all your needs. Parking is very convenient, though not free, but that small cost is vastly offset by very reasonable room rates. This is a resort hotel I would recommend for everyone, except maybe those who would prefer paying at least twice as much for pool slides and fancy Lobby label -shops, (but then again you can take a free shuttle for a few minutes to those places nearby), and not getting much of a room view at these newer more crowded hotel/resorts. This hotel is a winner and a real value for my money."

| A short guide to Lahaina |
|
Lahaina proudly boasts that it is the “Art Capital of the Pacific.” With more than 40 art galleries, it hosts Aloha Friday, a weekly party with artists’ demonstrations. The town’s roots grow deep—literally. The historic whaling town has one of the world’s largest banyan trees, planted in 1873. From Lahaina, visitors can ride a ferry to the mostly undeveloped islands of Molokai and Lanai.
