Recent Kahana Reef Review: "Kahana Reef-I have stayed at this property a few times (first time was a LONG time ago). The overall property has aged and doesn't look like much when you drive in but you absolutely can not beat the view! Great sunset action here, you are right on the water and the grounds are kept nice. We were in Unit 117 this time (units vary on decor depending on the owner). This one was updated, very nice...tile floors, tile on the (ground floor highly recommended!) lanai, kitchen very big with new appliances. We were very pleased. The only bad thing I can say about this unit is the sleeper sofa in the living room awful. Definitely needs to be replaced as it appears to be broken (head lower than the rest of the bed!). Otherwise, I loved the Kahana Reef!"

Kahana Reef's freshwater pool faces the ocean and flanks two stone stairways that give access to excellent snorkeling reefs. Farther out, experienced surfers tackle Kahana's waves.

Kaanapali is a prime vantage point for viewing humpback whales, which swim by December to May. The town’s whaling history is displayed at Whaler’s Village, a shopping complex and museum. Visitors also can experience the area’s farming past by riding the Sugar Cane Train, a restored steam locomotive. Snorkelers and divers can enjoy the coral reefs and fish that thrive in nearby Black Rock Beach.
