Recent Lotus Diamond Head Review: "I have stayed at many hotels in Waikiki and this one tops them all. I try to keep my budget in the low 100's and this one is in that range. Bed was comfortable, room up-to-date and very clean. Room had a mini-refrigerator and large LCD TV. The room had a limited city view, but you do not visit Waikiki to spend time in the room. They did have other rooms with better views but I am normally in the room so little that it is not worth it. Staff was very helpful when asked for assistance.
I actually stayed on three different hotels in this three day trip. Two on Waikiki Beach and one on the North Shore. The other Waikiki Beach was also nice but was more expensive. I went Ultra-Light flying on the North Shore with Paradise Air (www.paradiseairhawaii.com) so i stayed up there one night. If you ever get the time on Oahu, go see them it was a blast.
I always read the reviews for hotels on this site and others when picking a place to stay. It surprises me that other reviewers are shocked with either the required valet parking or the cost of self-park. This is Waikiki and space is very limited. The hotel has an option of including the parking in the fee. But if you are staying mainly in Waikiki you really do not need to have a car so you would be paying for parking even if not used. Charging the parking fee is common to all Waikiki hotels unless they offer no parking and you have to park on the street(Not recommended).
I would highly recommend this hotel and will quit looking for a new hotel each time I visit Oahu (6-7 times per year)."

| A short guide to Waikiki |
|
Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
