We had three major issues. 1). Upon check-in, we received a room key for someone else's room. The front desk staff gave us an upgrade to a better room but I felt the other people were the ones that deserved some compensation, not us. 2). The fridge in our room was set on the luggage stand, which would be incredibly unsafe if we had children. It could  easily have toppled on a young child. 3). The bathrooms vents were shared between rooms, which meant you could hear the neighbors and their bathroom activities loud and clear when in or near the bathroom. That said, the hotel had a nice common area, pool, lawn and beach. There are some good restaurants, grocery stores, malls and other shopping nearby. The hotel met all our needs.

This is a fine place to stay for a night or two - late night arrival or early departure or heading to Hana up mountain or into west mountains. Rooms are large, breakfast is above average, staffers are friendly and helpful. Friendly and casual!

My baby and I stayed here for one night after two weeks at a luxury hotel. The Maui Seaside was so quiet, friendly and nice. We had a room at ground level facing the pool. Played at the beach for a bit, but it had a lot of debris so not great. Walked to Whole Foods(!) for delicious food, open 8am-9pm. Fridge in our room. Would have stayed longer if  we could. Only minus was floors could have been cleaner, but no biggie. K probably only noticed because baby was crawling on it.

Günstig und nahe zum Flughafen und einer grossen Shopping Mall. Da es auf der Nordseite viel regnete würde ich im Winter die Südseite der Insel empfehlen.

The hotel is conveniently located for a late arrival on, or early departure from, Maui. I wouldn't stay there for too long if visiting Maui -- there are so many more beautiful areas and hotels. It is very reasonably priced for a 2.5-3.5 rated hotel.

It is a clean, nice looking hotel considering it is so close to the airport. Would NOT book a week long vacation here. Great for 1 or 2 nights.

We booked this hotel at the last minute due to inclement weather: we were scheduled to camp at the volcano on Maui but had to step back. The hotel in itself is in a non-descript part of Kahului. It does have a beach, but it's not exactly glamorous. Let me get this straight: I would never plan to stay there for more than a day. It's definitely a budget  hotel and unless you take a "deluxe" garden view room, you might be seriously disappointed. The pool is OK and the garden looks surprisingly nice. It is reminiscent of Palm Springs 1965 with clean white lines and race to space details. What hurts is the two addition buildings. If you're staying in either of these, the view you thought you might enjoy is now a long-faded dream. We got a standard room + breakfast and we checked in early (330p) so I guess we definitely lucked out and got one of the rooms with the pool view, away from the street and the parking lot. The interior was OK but pretty barren. No extras here. The bed was clean and the bathroom was alright. I guess that's what really matters. The breakfast is provided by the hotel restaurant. You get a voucher that's worth $8: not exactly a great deal in Hawaii. You have the choice between 3 fares + coffee, none of them outstanding (eggs/ham/rice/toast). To be honest, you get the same fare as Denny's. Not exactly glamorous either. The staff was courteous. No extras fee to pay, except for parking, which to me is excessive at $5. We felt the presence of security at night a bit oppressive when we got back from dinner that evening: the security staff followed us to our spot on his golf cart. In Maui, it's probably unnecessary (very peaceful vibe going on, generally speaking). Overall this hotel reminded me of a last-minute deal you get on the road while transiting across states. It's cheap, it's clean and it gets the job done. That's why it gets a '3'. But as a destination hotel, I'd definitely look somewhere else.

Very economic place to stay and still be able to enjoy Maui. Not 5 star accomodations, but if you are looking for a place to freshen up and rest, this is the perfect place. Near all of the shops in Kahului, 10 minutes to Kihei, and 30 minutes to Lahaina. Would definitely recommend if you are on a budget as you already know, you are going to pay a premium  for everything else on the island (ie gas and food)...It's Hawaii..

hotel pas tres beau et un peu viellot. Chambres grandes et propre, piscine petite mais sympa, petit dej bien. finalement bien place dans l'ile et a prix correct.
