| Nice room, great location, directly in the center of the beautiful Paia. BBQ available, cheap for what you"ve got. Bed not firm at all so I hope you prefer that (not me!). Nice garden. |

| While it's very funky, I like that there was no tv! I also liked the location even though there was limited parking. I'll stay again. |

| the hotel was perfectly acceptable, except the toilet was separated from the bed by a curtain, my wife was particularly upset by this fact, but we survived 9 nights.... |

| We intially chose this property because it looked nice from the photos. We were notified ahead of time to "contact the Nalu Kai Lodge for special instructions". A day before our arrival, I called several times and tried to get ahold of someone and only got a voicemail stating they return calls. I never received a return call. The day of check in I called again, with no response. We decided to head toward Paia and check in. When reaching the town, my travel partner called again and reached a live person. The woman said to check the chalk board for our name and room number and proceed to our open room. Inside our very small room (smaller than the photo looks) was a binder with property instructions and our key. During our 3 day stay, we never saw one person working for the Nalu Kai Lodge. No Front desk to check in/out, No housekeeping. Zero personnel. In the binder they did leave a phone number to contact in case of emergency. The room we stayed in was next to the road and there was a warning that on Monday the trash comes and is loud. To our surprise, the trash truck came Monday and then again on Tuesday morning at 4:30am! Good thing it was check out day and we could sleep on the plane. Although the photo's show the ocean in the background, there is no quick access to the beach. Access is through main street and at the state park. |

| Maria was very helpful with info about transportation availability. My sister-in-law left behind a pearl earring and Maria found it and sent it to her immediately. Our only problem was the lack of privacy in the bathroom due to having just a thin curtain separating it from the rest of the room. |
