Recent New Otani Kaimana Beach Review: "I absolutely loooove this hotel! I'm a repeater and I must say this hotel is a hidden gem. Everybody is nice, helpful, and very courteous. Although small, the room is nice'n'cozy, clean and well-maintained. A kind of room I stayed was a moderate which faces Diamond Head but I could still enjoy a partial view of ocean from lanai. There is a semi-private beach at the back of hotel, this is also a plus. Beach necessities such as beach-mat and towels can be rented for free from the hotel which is also another plus. There's a small store by the hotel where you can get lotions, sunglasses etc. All you need for beach is your bathing suits if you're staying at this hotel. Even if you forgot to bring one, you can buy it at the little boutique by the hotel. If there's one thing I'd like to request for them, that'd be a late check-out option. Since this hotel is Japanese-owned, I could see that they tend to cater more for tourists from Japan/Asian countries in general, and their convenience. Noon check-out time is not a big problem for them due to the fact their flights usually depart early in the morning. However, flights to the US mainland tends to depart late afternoon/early evening - mine was at 6pm. If only they allowed me to stay a couple of more hours - I requested them for the option but was politely declined, told that there'd be a guest checking in at my room on the date of my departure. I don't feel bitter about it at all or anything, this is perfectly understandable. Anyways, other than this, overall I've nothing negative about this hotel. This is definitely a great hotel for the money. I highly recommend this hotel."

| A short guide to Waikiki |
|
Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
