Recent Outrigger Regency Beach Walk Review: "Our daughter stayed at the Outrigger Regency on Beachwalk 2 years ago and loved it. My husband and I decided to book there based on her recommendation and we could not have been happier. The location is wonderfully central, the facilities are fantastic, the partial ocean view room's view was terrific and the staff were very attentive yet, allowed us  to feel as though we were home and not simply guests. We had a tiny issue with our airconditioner's noise, which was rectified promptly and for us, the whole experience of staying here was extremely enjoyable. We also loved the guest book that was in our room, so that we could review what others experienced in the beautifully vibrant Oahu and Waikiki. We will definitely be back and will be booking Outrigger Regency on Beachwalk again. Our 9 nights here simply went too fast. We sat next to a couple on the plane coming home who by chance had also stayed here, they too loved everything about the place. Thanks so much for making our holiday a fabulous experience. We are already looking at rebooking for early 2012!"

A short guide to Waikiki

Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.

Recreation

Waikiki Beach, one block away, offers safe swimming, catamarans, surfing lessons, and other water sports. Guests also enjoy access to the freshwater swimming pool at Outrigger Reef on the Beach Hotel, one block away.

The hotel is surrounded by small restaurants and bars, and the shops and shows of Kalakaua Avenue are around the corner. One mile away, also on Kalakaua Avenue, is a 24-hour fitness center with ocean views (surcharge). Joggers may wish to run along the Ala Wai canal, or head for the three-mile track at Kapiolani Park, one mile away. The park also has public tennis courts. An 18-hole public golf course, Ala Wai, is a 10-minute drive away.
