Our stay was exceptional! We were in a 2 bedroom, 3 bath condo with fully equipped, high-end kitchen and two lanais/balconies. Everything was beautiful! Both bathrooms had exquisite whirlpool tubs (one was a double!) We had huge windows; big, comfortable beds; LCD TVs in the living area and both bedrooms (used them at the end of wildly active days); and, full size washer and dryer. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the pool - meandering river-like pool with lots of out-of-the way places to relax alongside, and two waterslides (even we adults loved them!) The restaurant onsite is Oasis, and is lovely for dinner - nice, fresh, organic, locally-grown foods. The only downside is it opens at 4 PM and serves dinner only. However, the resort is situated walking distance to excellent restaurants, bars and shopping. It's a great central location in Kapa'a and on the beach. It was worth every penny, and we will be back!

Our room was outstanding - exceptionally high end kitchen appliances, bed was extremely comfortable, great ocean view...I could go on and on about the room. The pool is fun with a terrific slide. Only 2 things to be cautious of: The hotel was hard to find since Outrigger is not on the sign so look of the grocery store across the street. The Waipouli/Kapaa area is very congested so if you want to be a close drive to a ton of shops, this is a good place, but if you want solitude, look elsewhere.

We were given an Ocean Front room, but it was in building G, on the first floor. You could barely see the ocean. The front desk told me there was nothing they could do, but then referred me to the general manager. I called him, and he immediated offered me a Ocean View room in Building H, which technically was less than the Ocean Front. I checked out both rooms, and decided that the Ocean View room was much better than the building G Ocean Front room.

While we loved the room and the grounds, we were very diappointed that the "well promoted" Salon and Resteraunt/Bar were closed when we got there. The other part owner was apparently being forclosed on his part in the hotel/condos. We paid for these convienences in the price of the room and then were left with out. We still loved the island and overall the rooms were great!

huge condos, convenient to beach, princeville, lihue and poipu. very central to everything you need. It was like being at home. The kids loved the swimming pool. Not crowded at all. Easy self-parking.

The Outrigger Waipouli Beach is beautiful. Sub-zero refrigerator, granite countertops, sunken tubs in both baths, really comfortable beds, 3 balconies, 3 tvs, dvd player, ipod connections, free wireless, gorgeous pool... you name it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and it's right off the main road, which is convenient, but is a constant reminder of reality (hard to feel like you're in paradise when you see a grungy McDonalds every time you leave your room). The beach is pretty, but not swimable. Great for reading and walking, though. The northern and southern parts of the island are much prettier (Hanalei Bay and Poipu) - and have swimable beaches. Still, the hotel itself is beautiful and was a great deal for the money.

Overall, the hotel, the room and the amenities were excellent and we would definitely recommend this hotel and stay at it again in the future. A couple of things to keep in mind: Pros: Great location in the middle of the island and close to supermarket / stores Spacious, beautiful and well maintained apartments Well stocked kitchen Delightful swimming pool Friendly hotel staff Cons (just to manage expectations): Hotel beach is not swimmable Garden view means 85% parking lot view, 15% garden view. We requested a room change (just because of the parking lot view) and the front desk told us all "garden view" rooms are like that.

This hotel is centrally located on Kauai so if you plan to see the entire Island this is a wonderful place to stay. The Hotel is basically brand new and has all the bells and whistles. Totally High-End all the way. Wonderful pool, great bar and walkable to many restaurants and stores.
