Recent Royal Lahaina Resort Review: "We recently stayed a week at the Royal Lahaina Resort and from the moment we arrived we were greeted with such great hospitality and friendlyness. Staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome & provide what ever you needed and were all very helpful in helping book activities. Our room was spectacular with a great view, comfy bed/pillows, every  day the room was cleaned by housekeeping and they did a wonderful job (and trustworthy). I was very happy with how clean/comfy our room was - we stayed in the newly renovated Tower. Grounds of the resort are kept very nice at all times as well. While we were there, there was 2 weddings at the ocean front, just gorgeous! Resort Restaurant was great too, good food, great service we ate there a few times. We attended the Luau on site, sort of expensive.. but worth it! Glad we did it. It was good food and excellent FUN entertainment. I've seen bad reviews saying "don't stay on the side of the building where the luau is located" but we did, and honestly you can't hear a thing if your patio door is closed (we were barely at the hotel during luau hours anyways and the luau ends at 8pm so I don't know why they would complain about that - nothing to be concerned about. The Free Trolly to Whalers village and ka'anapali area was great since we didn't rent a car, you can get around on the bus just fine ($1 ea way) but We did feel that you couldn't rely on the TIMES it was all over the place, we wasted a lot of our time waiting for the buses & trolly but it was so cheap/free you couldn't really complain i guess... resort is only about 7mins walk to Fairway shops & 15 min walk to whalers village. Nothing bad to say about this resort. I would definatly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to getaway, relax & unwind."
