| We had a great stay at Uncle Billy's. We had rented a condo in Kona for the week, but wanted to take a drive to the Hilo side of the island, see volcanoes, etc. It was a great way to do that and not have it cost a fortune paying for both rooms. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was nice-- nothing to complain about except that the beds are doubles and we need at least a queen to be comfortable. We had a charming view of a pond and the bay. We had a coffee pot and refrigerator in the room, which was nice. There is also a free continental breakfast. It is conveniently located and close to a wonderful park. There's a bar, restaurant, and store on the grounds-- Happy Hour was good. We would recommend Uncle Billy's-- it's more like Hawaii used to be...more personal and charming than the big, fancy hotels. It was fun. |

| This is a very 2 star place. As long as you know going into the experience that it's 2 star, you will enjoy your stay. The hotel is clean, just dated and in need of some upgrades. The continental breakfast was simple--bread, papaya, coffee, watery juice. The location is great--right on the harbor and close to any Hilo sights you might want to see and an easy drive to see the Volcano. |

| This was a good hotel for the price. The hotel is older and shows it's age but the service was very friendly. The room was aged but clean and comfortable enough. The garden and fish pond is beautiful. The location is convienent to surrounding activites. The restaurant atached had very good and fairly priced food.
I would stay here again if I were in the area. |

| Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel is in a great location near several beautiful parks and the ocean. The staff was friendly and the accommodations were as expected - a little run down but clean and adequate. The AC was too noisy to be used at a level that really cooled the room, but it cooled down outside at night, so we were fine. The rooms are a nice size, and for the price, this was a fine hotel for our three days in Hilo. |

| I'm a local resident of Hawai'i and I've stayed at this hotel many times. This is the first time that I was not happy with the service of the front desk service agent. He was not very welcoming and he made every single person in the room fill out a form with their name and address. The hotel also charges for an extra set of towels. I've never heard of this before. I was disappointed to hear this. |

| The hotel receptionist was very helpful and gave us some good tips on what to see during our limited time in Hilo. Hotel is near Coconut Island and a beautiful gardens park area. We loved walking through both and taking pictures. Our room had an excellent view. The people who run Uncle Billy's are down-to-earth and friendly. |
