| Effectivement, la vue est sur le cratère. Mais l'hotel est vieux et extrèmement kitch, les chambres sont meublées de la manière la plus sommaire qui soit: un lit, une table, et une salle de bain. Le strict minimum. On attendait mieux vu le prix payé...En plus, une moustiquaire inamovible à la fenêtre empêche de profiter de la vue et on se retrouve donc à admirer le cratère depuis la salle à manger. Point positif: le petit dej...miam!(mais non inclu dans le prix, et cher (13$). En bref, trop cher pour ce que c'est. |

| The hotel is a historical landmark, but the hotel amenities are not up to modern standards. I stayed in the Ohia Wing. The two points that need immediate improvements are the rusty hangers and the not-so-hot water.
Other than that, the location is awesome, but you don't have to stay here to experience that. Just stop by as a point-of-interest when you visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Lastly, the restaurant was great, even at such remote location. |

| The location of the hotel is great to attend talks, start hikes or start bike rides.
The hotel building is older than average for the area. The location has had a hotel longer than any other in Hawaii.
The room I stayed in had mold on the pealing wall paper. Why anyone would use wall paper in a rain forest location escapes me. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The rug at the buildings entrance was worn through for the first 2 feet and stained for the next 5 feet. The musky order of the building could not be avoided. The maintenance team probably learned the business on the leeward side of the island that has a desert climate. |

| This place really needs to be managed by a new company. Given the prices paid, the rooms and service should be in much better condition. The beds are very uncomfortable and the staff provides very poor service. The dining service is very poor - do yourself a favor and go to the Thai place in Volcano Village.
That being said, the National Park employees were amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. Really top notch. |

| Exceptional setting, well maintained for an older hotel. Evening meal in the dining room is agood value. |
