Overall, we had a very nice stay at the Westin Maui resort and spa, but all was not perfect in paradise. We had an ocean view room and we there for 6 nights (12/26 - 1/1). This was our first big vacation with our 2 year old son outside the mainland, so there are a couple thoughts to share. We have traveled (airplane) about 6 times with our son already,  but most travel has been in the lower 48 States. Checkin - I have never seen a check-in process this chaotic. We got to the hotel about 1pm, put our name in and they said they would call us when the room was ready. This seemed perfect, how we did not get our room until 5pm (2 hours late.) If it was just my wife and I this would have been fine, but with a kid in tow it can be a little nightmare. I witnessed this happen to about 10-15 families...which should not happen at a hotel chain like the Westin. When you're spending good money, you expect a room at 3pm checkin. My wife and I have traveled a decent amount around the Caribbean, Mexico, S Pacific and have never seen this type of chaos before. I noticed it happen every day as we walked by the lobby. The hotel did comp us (and others) for the delay, but I would have much rather had the room at 3pm. Room - Our ocean view room was good. We were in center of hotel on 6th floor with a pretty nice view. However, anyone on our side of the hotel was pretty close to the lobby waterfall, so it was pretty loud at night. You could sleep with windows open, but it was surprisingly loud. I can't imagine those rooms right above the lobby waterfall, it must have sounded like they were sleeping inside the waterfall. Pool - The pool is very nice. However, we had some high winds (35 mph+) the first couple of days, so the pool was cold. Most of the little one's we saw (under 3/4) and spoke with were not in the pool as you froze in and when you got out. The older kids were fine. 8月12日から行ってきました。ファミリーには隣接している、ホエラーズビレッジもあり、利便性も良いです。ただ、ホテルの部屋自体は良いのですが、幾つか部屋のカーペットにガラスの破片がありました。たまたまかもしれませんが。

ここに限らずですが、マウイのホテルの相場はワイキキなどに比べるとかなり高いです・・・。 オーシャンビューで予約しましたが、低層階の海よりも全然手前の部屋だったのでパーシャルでしか海が見えませんでした・・・ 何より一番がっかりしたのは、エレベーターのすぐ脇の部屋なので、夜中までエレベーター音が響きうるさい。 あからさまに格の低い部屋をあてがわれたと思いました。 また、リゾートフィー(タオルの無料貸し出など?)みたいなチャージを毎日$28くらいとられ、結果的にかなり高い滞在費になってしまいました・・・ その他のサービスなどは流石のウエスティンですから申し分ないのですが・・・ ハネムーンなどの記念旅行じゃなければ、コンドみたいなところの方がマウイはいいかもしれません。

We picked this hotel because it had an amazing looking pool and a water slide. What can I say, I've yet to grow up. The food at the restaurant was good, the bar staff was pleasantly engaging and the water slide was fantastic. As an added bonus, if you walk north to Black Rock Beach, you can swim with turtles! There were two giant sea turtles about 20'  off the shore and they seemed to be perfectly content swimming with tourists. Definitely a wonder hotel and a great time.

The location was great. The hotel itself was nice. Very crowded lots of kids,....not mellow if that is what you are looking for....Front desk staff not friendly.

Service at front desk was very good, however every where else in the hotel was poor. Room smelled of sewage. Was moved on 3rd day to an upgraded room, which also smelled of sewage. Other guests complained of the same odor. Over priced, everything is an additional cost (beach chairs, umbrellas). If you do rent these items they have to be returned by 4:30pm or charged for another day. Pool service, I personally had to go to the poolside restaurant to ask for service. Generally, very disappointed in this hotel due to poor service and the foul odor in the rooms.

What a disappointment! The room was on the top floor and had a great view of the ocean BUT there was a restaurant next door that started receiving deliveries at 5:30 AM. Every truck had a backup alarm that was very loud. The carpet in the room was filthy. I dropped a coin on the floor and when I picked it up I could see fingernail clipping all over the carpet. The bathroom was in poor condition. The door stop on the door was falling off. The towel bar was bent. Housekeeping did not clean the mirror. The baseboard was dirty and the water in the toilet came up too high. We made dinner reservations for the best restaurant there. Picked out the table. When we arrived for our dinner, the restaurant was closed. The staff clearly is incompotent. GO ELSEWHERE!

All you are paying for is the name. Rooms are small and out dated and if you ask for a partial ocean view you get a great view of the parking lot of which you have to pay $20+ a day to park in, if you can find a spot in there tiny lot. But its not all bad, the resort is beautiful and you are on the beach.

The Westin was fabulous! The grounds were beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The staff was helpful and provided great suggestions for a true Hawaiian experience. Ocean view room was worth every penny! The only negative was the size of the bathroom, but we got used to that. We were there during some minor construction and the only reason we knew that was the 4 am fire drill:-) We made that fun too...we were in Hawaii! The beds were comfortable and the spa amazing! The breakfast buffet is a must, but leave one day open for any early excursions you may plan. We have two pre-paid breakfast vouchers we were unable to use. The restaurants for dinner are decent and there are some fabulous places for dinner within walking distance of the hotel. Overall, one of the best hotels we have stayed at and would recommend it to everyone. In fact our friends just booked a week there! We can't wait to go back and will definately look to stay at Westins when we travel.
